Adventures in Allergy Aware Cooking.
I am known for my pumpkin pie. Delicious, have secret ingredients, pumpkin pie. This fall, however, is the first fall I have to implement my strict food allergy diet, and let me just say that it is cramping my pie style.
With no eggs, or milk, or wheat- pie is now a challenge to make. So, now starts my adventure to make the best damn allergy conscious pumpkin pie I can! And test number one wasn’t too bad. Good taste, but lacked the texture of an amazing pumpkin pie. I also baked the pie in its pumpkin! Cool in concept, but difficult in execution.
